'Boy's a liar Pt. 2' Retakes No. 1; 'Rain (Boldly in the Pretend)', from 'Bluey', Debuts Inside Top 10
This makes 'Boy's a liar Pt. 2' the longest running No. 1 in the history of the chart; it breaks the record Sam Smith & Kim Petras' 'Unholy' set in fall 2022 with 5 weeks at the top.
PinkPantheress & Ice Spice’s “Boy’s a liar Pt. 2” secures a sixth week at the top spot of the Kika 100; it marks its third stint at the top since it debuted back in early February. The song dethrones Sam Smith & Kim Petras' “Unholy” to become the longest running No. 1 hit in the history of the chart; this marks the sixth week “Boy’s a liar Pt. 2” has claimed the top spot, as opposed to the five weeks with “Unholy” reigning at the top.
“Boy’s a liar Pt. 2”, which initially caught traction due to online virality, debuted at the top spot in early February and hasn’t left the top two since its release. The viral smash drew 49.7 million streams (down 11%), 43,000 sales (down 8%), and 91.5 million in airplay audience (up 10%) during the tracking week. It reclaims the top spot on streaming, and ascends to No. 3 on airplay.
It moves above Melanie Martinez’s “DEATH”, which falls one spot to No. 2 in its second week on the chart. The roughly five minute long intro to Martinez’s album, “PORTALS”, which released March 31, drew 39.9 million streams (down 17%), 58,700 sales (down 35%), and 67.4 million in airplay audience (up 41.7%).
It finishes in third place on both streaming and sales, going down one spot in the former and two in the latter. It also hits the top 30 on airplay, becoming the fastest to hit the region in chart history, reaching it in just two weeks.
Sticking at No. 3 is “ceilings” by Lizzy McAlpine; despite gains in streaming and radio, the track was unable to climb due to both the wide margins between it and the current top two, as well as a loss in sales. The cinematic track drew 29.7 million streams (up 3%), 58,800 sales (down 12%), and 65.3 million in airplay audience (up 15%). It holds both at No. 2 on sales, and No. 5 on streaming.
Skrillex, PinkPantheress, & Trippie Redd’s “Way Back” holds steady at No. 4 for a third week in a row. Released mere days after New Year’s Day, the song has spent all but one of its weeks since its debut in the top 10. The track drew 32.9 million streams (up 6%), 38,400 sales (up 2%), and 87.8 million in airplay audience (up 5%).
Holding its spot at No. 5 for a second week in a row is Steve Aoki, Galantis, & Hayley Kiyoko’s “Hungry Heart”. Despite its lack of movement in position, however, the song rebounded on streaming and sales, as well as beginning its promising airplay run. The track drew 47.0 million streams (up 13%), 34,400 sales (up 17%), and 21.0 million in airplay audience (up 162%). The track also re-enters the top two on the streaming chart.
Elsewhere inside the top 10, Coi Leray’s moves up a spot to reach a new peak at No. 6, GABUISLOST’s “DISTRICT.” re-peaks at No. 7 alongside a top 5 placement on sales, Lottery & LU KALA’s “Lottery” hits a new peak at No. 8, Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers” dips to No. 9, and Joff Bush & Jazz D’Arcy’s “Rain (Boldly in the Pretend) debuts at No. 10.
“Rain (Boldly in the Pretend)”, released by Joff Bush & Jazz D’Arcy, was released as the third single from the upcoming album “Dance Mode!”; the album serves as the second official soundtrack album for the hit TV show “Bluey”, created by aforementioned composer for the show Bush. This makes the track the highest charting single associated with the show to date; it bests “I Know a Place (The Creek Song)” by Helena Czajka and the aforementioned D’Arcy, which peaked at No. 16 on its fourth week on the chart.
The newly released soundtrack hit drew 21.5 million streams, 66,500 sales, and negligible airplay on its first week on the chart. The track launches at the top spot on sales, as well as earning itself a No. 12 placement on the streaming chart.
